The Behaviour Effect

From Principles to Practice

About ABA

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach to understanding and improving behaviour. ABA identifies the environmental factors that influence behaviour and applies targeted strategies to increase helpful behaviours and reduce those that interfere with wellbeing. It’s used to create meaningful, lasting change across a wide range of settings, from homes and classrooms to clinics and workplaces.

While ABA is widely known for its effectiveness in supporting individuals with autism, its applications extend far beyond. ABA principles are used to enhance education, parenting, professional performance, and health outcomes. By focusing on motivation, reinforcement, and repeated learning in natural environments, ABA empowers people of all ages to build skills, improve quality of life, and achieve personal and social goals.
